I was browsing the Chrome Releases blog today, at the intersection between Chrome OS and Stable Updates and noticed an interesting new feature in the 27.0.1453.103 version release:
Horizontal three finger scrub moves between tabs
I tried this out on my Chromebook, and it works amazingly well — with a little indicator of which tab you’re about to switch to.
To get this working:
- Ensure your Chromebook is updated to at least 27.0.1453.103. [Settings > Help > note the Version you're running]
- Open more than one tab (three works well!)
- Ensure that the tab on the far left (or the far right) is selected.
- Place three fingers on left side of the trackpad, and swipe them to the right side of the trackpad. (Or the opposite, to go the other way.)
- Watch your tabs change!
I haven’t written a review of my 11.6″ ARM-based Samsung Chromebook yet, but I really like it. When I travel on business, it’s the only computer I take with me., since I only need to access webmail or read PDFs when I’m away from teh office. It also works great for any personal business — Google Docs, Hangouts with friends over hotel wifi (since I use a hotspot for my internet at home), reading the news, etc.
